Reconnecting with goddess the goddess within as I live, learn, and love. Life presents many tests and trials we can’t let them bring us down. We have to take it as a learning experience and build our inner strengths in times of adversity. Writing helps me to connect. My posts come from my heart. I do it to clear my mind. In the process if it helps someone else who may be facing similar issues I am even more grateful. I guess in a way it allows me to live up to my birth name, Monique – advisor.

My weight loss journey: Can you see the difference?

From my heaviest I have lost a total of 78lbs. I fell off the wagon for a moment but I am picking myself up to get back on my mission to becoming a sexier and healthier Freespirit.
I wish you luck. Battling weight is definitely a struggle that many of us go through. I was caught up in losing weight for so long and realized that for me it's not just about dropping pounds, but being healthy and feeling good about myself. I wish you (and me, lol) luck in your continued efforts
Thanks sis. You and your hubby have definitely been an inspiration. I have been declared disabled and my weight is to blame. Poeple don't realize how many health issues can come from being overweight. In black communities we sometimes pride ourselves on being 'big boned'. I had that attitude until the scale kept creeping up and then I was seeing 8 doctors for various health issues. It really is all about being healthy first and foremost. Everything else that comes from weight loss I call lagniappe, an extra or unexpected gift. <--- Staying true to my New Orleans roots, lol.
